I will likely add to this space, but as people want/need a space, here are a few quick rules till I have time to really work on them. It's rather ironic to have rules in a PDA space, however, think of these as more of a way to protect yourself:
* This is a neuro-affirming space
* Identity first language is preferable, however, please respect anyone's personal preferences as to how they like to identify themselves as.
* This is the internet - Keep yourself safe by not giving out any personal details and do not post anything publicly unless you are OK with people reading it.
* No pictures of children
* No pictures of other people without their consent
* No defamatory conversations about other people or businesses. Just because this group is closed, it doesn't mean we are protected from being sued.
* No screenshots - Its just not nice. However, this also relates to privacy. Just because I ask that screenshots not be taken, it doesn't mean people will listen and I have zero ways to control that. Do not post anything here that is too personal in nature or that you don't want others to know. I cannot guarantee the safety of your data online.
* No discrimination of any kind
* No graphic content of any kind or violence
Added: 30/09/2024 * Any parenting help and advice must come from a neuro-affirming perspective, that understands things from a non-behaviourist, non-punitive way. I value practices such as Conscious Parenting, Gentle, Parenting, Emotionally Intelligence Parenting. Collaborative Parenting - particularly Dr Ross Greene's Collaborative & Proactive Solutions (CPS) model. If this is NOT something you can agree with, this space is not for you.
"Kids do well if they can".
ABA, PBS, and any other offshoots is not tolerated here. If you cannot agree to this, this is not a space for you.
